The White House’s two-word nickname for Trump is raising eyebrows

The latest White House nickname for President Donald Trump has been met with mixed reactions on social media.

The Trump administration’s official Instagram account and X are tweeting out words that appeared to originate from a rally on the 2024 campaign trail.

“Daddy’s house,” the White House posted Wednesday evening, featuring a cartoon edit of Trump giving a thumbs up and wearing a Santa hat in front of the White House.

These words seem to have originated from the former host of Fox News, Tucker Carlson, who indicated that Trump would beat former Vice President Kamala Harris during a rally last October.

“Dad is pissed,” Carlson told a crowd in Georgia. “And when daddy gets home, you know what he says? “You’ve been a bad girl. You were a bad little girl, and you’re getting a vigorous spanking right now.”

The phrase came back into the national spotlight after NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte called Trump “daddy” during a summit in the Netherlands in June. When asked to respond to the comment, Trump said “I think I like it,” before adding, “Dad, you’re my dad.”

“Daddy’s house… Hey, hey, hey, Daddy,” the White House account later posted over Usher’s 2010 hit, though the video has since been removed by X.

While some social media users described the new graphics as strange, others praised the trolling effort just in time for the holidays.

“Just very weird,” replied a popular polling account.

Another user changed the text to read “Epstein’s House,” referring to the late disgraced financier, and also added world leaders.

“Lmao I love this timeline we’re on,” wrote a different user.

Journalist Charles CW Cook joked, “Thanks, but I have a father.”

The post comes as First Lady Melania Trump announced “Home is where the heart is” as this year’s Christmas theme for the White House.

“The saying ‘Home is Where the Heart is’ resonates with me, especially as I navigate the joys, challenges and frequent movement that comes with motherhood and business,” she told Fox News Digital this week. “The constant movement taught me that home is not just a physical space; rather, it is the warmth and comfort that I carry inside, regardless of my surroundings.”

“This Christmas, let’s celebrate the love we keep within ourselves and share it with the world around us,” added the first lady. “After all, wherever we are, we can create a home full of grace, radiance, and endless possibilities.”
