‘Are We Really Gonna Be the Gestapo?’ Joe Rogan Takes Critical Look at ICE Raids — Says Renee Good Shooting ‘Looked Horrible’

Joe Rogan said he understands both sides of the illegal immigration debate — including those who compare President Of Donald Trump ICE raids to Of Adolf Hitler Gestapo.

Rogan spoke about the issue on his podcast with guest Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Tuesday. The podcast star said he understands why conservatives believe ICE raids are necessary to “take some of the damage” done by illegal immigration.

He then said he also sees the “point of view” of anti-ICE protesters who argue “You don’t want militarized people on the streets just roaming around, kidnapping people – many of whom turn out to be American citizens who just don’t have their papers on them. Are we really going to be the Gestapo? ‘Where are your papers?’ Is that what we’ve come to?”

Rogan made the remark while discussing the shooting of Renee Good in Minnesota last week. He said he read that the agent who shot Good was run over by a car last year — but that he still felt it was a “terrible tragedy” that should not have happened.

He said:

I’m not that guy, I don’t know what he was thinking, and again this is a guy who was almost blown away. But that just seemed awful to me.

When people say it’s justifiable because the car hit him, it looked like she was turning the car.

It looked like she was out of her f*cking mind to begin with. That lady looked crazy.

Paul told Rogan that he didn’t want to go “too much into the specifics” of the incident because he didn’t want to “pass judgment like a jury would.” The senator said he believes ICE agents have a “very difficult job,” which Rogan agreed with, but mostly avoided talking about last week’s shooting.

Rogan said another “problem” with ICE raids is that they are making agents look like “villains” to many citizens.

“People are now looking at them like murderous military people who are on the streets of our city,” Rogan said. “And they are hidden, which is also a problem.”

He said that if you are pulled over by a policeman, you are allowed to ask for their name and badge number. But “If you get arrested by an ICE agent, you don’t have that right. They don’t have to tell you sh*t.”

At the same time, Rogan said he understands why ICE officers would want to be anonymous — because they fear that anti-ICE protesters will destroy their lives.

Watch above.
