CES took over Las Vegas this week, which means a flood of flashy – and usually expensive – tech show announcements. Think 200-inch 16K TVs that only a billionaire could love (or have in their home), and maybe the occasional genuinely useful gadget that normal people can afford. What you almost never see is one of those gadgets already on sale. And yet, Anker’s new 45W Nano charger with integrated smart display is already $10 off on pre-order. If you want it at this price, I won’t wait – at least one color is already sold.

Why is this a good deal? 💰
Products announced at CES are rarely discounted quickly, especially brand new devices from a major brand like Anker. While the previous Nano charger retailed for $20, this updated version adds a few improvements that justify the bump in price — and at $30, you’re still paying less than usual for a compact 45-watt charger that can handle even smaller phones, wearables and laptops.
Why do I need this? 🤔
If you’re anything like me, you probably already have a few dozen chargers junking up your drawers and cabinets. What makes this different? The big upgrade here is the integrated smart display, which shows real-time charging information such as power output, temperature and charging status.
While the screen is undoubtedly cool, the most important feature for me is that the charger can recognize which device you’ve plugged in and automatically adjust its output to protect the battery’s long-term health, which should be quite important if you’re charging everything from an iPhone and AirPods to a smartwatch or MacBook Air, often all in the same day. Instead of having to wonder if you’re messing with it with a high watt charger, it takes care of the optimization for you. That said, with only one port, you’ll need to prioritize what you’re charging.
Despite all these new features, the Nano still lives up to its name, remaining quite small and light. It also has 180-degree folding prongs that can fit crowded outlets and power strips while still keeping the screen visible – which may seem like a small detail but makes a big difference when you’re traveling or dealing with awkward wall sockets.
The prongs fold a full 180 degrees, helping the charger fit into crowded power strips, even at odd angles. (Anchor)
What reviewers say 💬
Although this charger has yet to be released, the screenless charger it’s replacing boasts over 1,700 five-star reviews on Amazon.
Advantages 👍
“This Nano charger is compact, powerful and incredibly well made,” raved a happy customer. “The 45W fast charging is impressive and the foldable plug makes it perfect for travel while still feeling solid and durable. It charges quickly and efficiently without overheating.”
This reviewer got theirs everywhere: “In daily use, it runs hot under heavier loads but never uncomfortably hot, which is what I’d expect from a charger that pushes this wattage. I’ve used it on flights, in hotels and at home with no issues or downtime.”
This five-star minimalist sums it all up nicely. “This charging pad is small and light but still powerful enough to charge my MacBook Air. It charges my iPhone and iPad really fast and I can carry it on the go. As a minimalist, I’ve been trying to find a portable charging pad that can charge all three of my Apple products and the Anker Nano Charger does it all.”
Disadvantages 👎
“A couple of minor notes: If you’re running a larger laptop under sustained load, this is no substitute for a full-size 65W charger,” a four-star reviewer mentioned. “Also, it’s only one port, so it’s not ideal if you need to charge multiple devices at once.” (For both of these applications, this Anker charger should do the trick.)
“My only minor gripe is that it only has one USB-C port – I wish I could plug in a second device at the same time – but that’s minor considering the size and price,” echoed another fan. “If you want a single, powerful, super-portable wall charger that you can throw in your bag and forget about, this is it.”
