‘This woman has gone absolutely nuts’

Wild TikTok videos have captured the foul-mouthed meltdown of an angry United Airlines passenger after her flight was delayed amid the government shutdown last month.

The viral incident happened on the tarmac of Newark Liberty International Airport and ended with the passenger being removed from the plane, according to a November 10 TikTok.

“This woman went absolutely nuts and we had to go back to the gate to remove her,” wrote the passenger who took the video in the caption.

A video shows a blonde passenger exiting her window seat and stopping in front of a flight attendant, who she grabs.

“I’m getting up. I’m allowed to stay. When you keep us on the tarmac for an hour, I’m allowed to get up,” shouts the woman.

The flight attendant calls and calmly tells the smoking passenger that it’s “no problem.”

“It’s not a problem at all. It’s really not a problem for me to want nif ****** to stay. F ******c****,” the angry passenger spat as the flight attendant left.

Immediately after the stubborn traveler realizes he is being filmed, he goes silent.

In a follow-up video, the passenger who recorded the tirade explained how their flight to Charleston, South Carolina, was delayed for three hours before it even took off – and was then held back on the tarmac for more than an hour.

“So at this point, everyone is still a little bit. You can feel the collective exhaustion. And then this woman just loses it and starts shouting the c-word again and again. And everyone goes silent,” said the TikToker who shared the video.

A passenger sitting in the row behind them tried to put things into perspective, telling the upset passenger, “We all have somewhere, my mum’s funeral is tomorrow,” the TikToker added.

“That just kind of puts everything into perspective for everyone. We’re all stressed, we all have our things going on,” she said.

However, the well-meaning comment wasn’t enough to calm her down – and she was soon escorted off the plane, the TikToker added.

The TikToker retold the story saying that the flight attendants “were real angels” and helped everyone stay calm during a very stressful time.

The video was posted on TikTok last month when the Federal Aviation Administration grounded flights at major airports and air traffic controllers went unpaid due to the government shutdown, which ended on November 13.

Thousands of flights to, from and within the United States were delayed or canceled that same weekend. The day before the video was posted, November 9, was the worst day of air travel since the government shutdown, with more than 11,000 delays and nearly 3,000 cancellations.
