As House Democrats continue to release photos collected from the estate of deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a member of Congress has confirmed that some of the images show people engaged in sexual acts.
After Democrats on the House Oversight Committee shared a selection of photos from Epstein’s estate — more than 95,000 photos were collected, in all — on Friday, December 12, Virginia Representative Suhas Subramanyam confirmed on CNN’s The Arena with Kasie Hunt that some of the unreleased images show “many people” engaged in sexual acts.
Asked if the committee has images of “people involved in sexual acts” among the images collected, the Democratic congressman told Hunt that “as part of this release, yes, there are images of people involved in sexual acts.”
CNN’s political correspondent also asked if men other than Epstein would be shown to be involved in these acts, to which Subramanyam replied: “We’re going through that.” The members of Congress said that the legislators “are still not really sure who is who,” but added, “Certainly, however, there are many people involved in some of these acts.”
The first batch of 19 images shows more than 10 prominent men — including Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Steve Bannon and the former Prince Andrew — in a variety of settings over the years. On the same day as the initial release, House Democrats released 70 more images, showing different angles of previously released photos from Epstein’s private island, according to CNN.
None of the photos released so far show any sexual misconduct or individuals believed to be minors, according to CNN.

Hunt also asked Subramanyam what “disturbing” – which has been widely used to discuss Epstein’s photos, both released and unreleased – means in this context. “I mean, we’re talking about sexual acts involving, potentially, minors and certainly victims as well, in very suggestive and compromising positions,” said the Virginia Democrat. “To leave it at that.”

The Congressman also offered comments on some of the figures depicted in the newly released images. Asked if the Clinton family was given a warning before the release, Subramanyam said: “We are not looking to protect anyone, Democrat or Republican. We are finding the evidence, and we are encouraging it.”
“The only people we’re really consulting with, when it comes to whether or not it’s appropriate to put something out, are the victims,” Subramanyam added. (The House Oversight Committee covered the faces of several women in the newly shared photos for privacy reasons.)
“If the Clintons have information, we want to hear it. We welcome them to come testify before a committee, clear their names,” he said, adding that the same goes for Gates, the former Prince Andrew and anyone else who appears in the photos.
Subramanyam added: “We want to hear from all of them about what they know when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.”

California Representative Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, also addressed the reportedly “disturbing” photos collected from Epstein’s estate in an interview Friday.
It appears on CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins on December 12, Garcia told the host and the White House correspondent that some of the images they received from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate are “quite disturbing.”
He also told Collins that there are “many, many pictures of women” among them. Specifically, he said, “some are very disturbing of the women and their conditions,” for Garcia, who added that lawmakers hope to release the photos in the “days and weeks” to come.
House Democrats have promised to release additional photos as they continue to search through the thousands of files they have received.
